Stanley Worthington

Stanley Richard Worthington, 68, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2002 at Creighton Medical Center in Omaha.The son of Lester Homer and Ella J. (Jones) Worthington, Stanley was born March 17, 1934 in Atlantic, Iowa. He grew up in the rural area northeast of Cumberland, Iowa and attended Cumberland School. Stanley lived in Omaha as an adult and was employed for thirty years by the Civil Service - Government Service Agency in building maintenance. He retired October 1, 1994.Stanley is survived by his sister, Mary Ann Sothman and husband, Bob, of Ava, Missouri; his brother Dave J. Worthington of Atlantic; two nieces, Denise King and husband, Alan, of Atlantic and Lori English of Waukee, Iowa; two great-nieces, Sara and Hanna King; one aunt, Ruth Overton of Dysart, Iowa and a number of cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Ella J. (Jones) Worthington; paternal grandparents, Homer and Minnie Engle Worthington; maternal grandparents, Owen J. and Anna Jones and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.Funeral InformationFuneral services for Stanley will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2002, at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa at 11:00 A.M. with Dr. Maurice Hart of the Eagle Nest Worhsip Center in Omaha and Bud Lindeman of Atlantic officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.
