Obituary for Willis Rex Workman
Willis Rex Workman, 86, formerly of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Friday, September 19, 1997, at the Porter Hospice House in Denver, Colorado.
The son of Willis and Julia Etta Jensen Workman, he was born July 6, 1911, in Greenfield, Iowa and graduated from the Exira High School. His marriage to Rita Cecelia Crawford took place on September 4, 1940 at the SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic where they lived until 1967 when they moved to Cherokee Village, Arkansas. Willis was a member of the SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, a long-time employee of the Sears and Roebuck Store; a salesman for Valley Motors; he sold real estate in Arkansas; and was a life member of the B. P. O. Elks Lodge #445.
Surviving are two sons, James E. Workman and his wife, Michelle, of Denver, Colorado and Robert A. Workman and his wife, Connie, of Marshalltown, Iowa; four grandchildren, Stephanie, Nicole, Brian and Tim Workman; and his sister, Eva Hansen of Atlantic, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
