Brooks Matthew Wollum, 9-month-old infant son of Joe and Haley (Wessling) Wollum of Anita, Iowa, gained his Forever Cape, Monday, January 21, 2019, at Children’s Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.
He was born April 16, 2018, at Methodist Women’s Hospital in Omaha. Brooks’ time here was short but he completed his mission from God and made his mommy and daddy feel blessed that he was picked to be theirs. In 9 months, he moved mountains, touched many lives, and put countless doctors, nurses and other hospital staff into his family’s life, which they will endlessly be grateful for. No matter what Brooks’ was going through he was always laid back, care free, happy and flashing his radiant, contagious smile.
Brooks will be forever in the hearts of his parents, Joe and Haley Wollum; big sister, Baylor; grandparents, Jim and Dianne Wessling of Anita, IA, and Mike and Kay Wollum of Fargo, ND; aunts and uncles, Ethan Wessling of Anita, Matt (Megan) Wollum of Omaha, NE, Brett (Jen Webster) Wollum of Evansdale, IA, and Tiffany (Kenny Tooley) Wollum of Waterloo, IA; cousins, Karter and Ava Tooley; great-grandma, Judy Murphy of Anita; and numerous great aunts, uncles and cousins.
He joins in Heaven, great-grandpa, Bill Murphy; great-grandparents, Paul and Jane Wessling, Leonard and Mary Trick, and Wayne and Laura Mae Wollum; great-great-grandma, Evelyn Kessler; additional great-great-grandparents; and great-aunts, Cathy Jones, Patty South and Virginia Trick.
Visitation with the family present will be from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, January 24th at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 25th at CAM High School in Anita, with Father Chinna Devaraj of St. Mary’s Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Anita.

INTERMENT
Evergreen Cemetery - Anita, Iowa
God saw him getting tired,
and a cure was not to be
so He put His arms around him
and whispered, “Come to Me.”
With tearful eyes
we watched him suffer,
and saw him slowly fade away.
Although we loved him dearly,
we could not make him stay.
A loving heart stopped beating,
little hands put to rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
