Kenneth Gene Wolff
Kenneth Gene Wolff, age 49, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2012, at his daughter's home in Audubon, Iowa, with his children, siblings, and parents by his side.
Kenneth was born to LaVern Emil and Mary Joan Ihnen Wolff in Seward, Nebraska on December 24, 1962. His family moved to Sioux City, Iowa where he attended school until the 10th grade but he later received his GED which made him proud. He was a laborer and a mechanic before he became disabled. He enjoyed fixing things such as cars, watches, rings and 4-wheelers to name a few. He looked forward to buying treasurers from pawn shops. Kenneth's dogs, Bubba, Jack and grand dog MJ, who took care of grandpa the last few months of his life and gave him a great deal of pleasure, but his favorite time was spent with his family and friends. He thought he had four wonderful children who gave him joy, comfort, and love during this difficult time in their lives. Kenneth enjoyed a mini vacation he took with his kids and son-in-law in Council Bluffs. They had rib tips at Famous Daves and all went to the 3-D movie, Ghost Rider 2. He will be remembered for his kind, caring nature and for helping others who were less fortunate than himself. Kenneth always said what was on his mind no matter what anyone else thought.
He is survived by his children, Tina Malloy and husband, Jason, of Audubon, IA, and their children Britney, Andrew, Carmen, and Danielle; Tiffany Schon and husband, Keith, from Coon Rapids, IA, and their children Aliyah, Tillman and an expected baby, Esley Trason, Tonya Wolff of Audubon, IA and fiance, Nate Greve, and children Quinten, and Paige; Travis Wolff of Audubon, IA; ex-wife, Carol Wolff of Audubon, IA; his mother, Mary Jansen, of Avoca, IA; his dad, Vern Wolff and step mother, Marilyn, of Hancock, IA; his girl friend, Deb Kennedy, of Shelby, IA; his brother James Wolff, and, Mary, of Hutchinson, KS and children, Jimmy of Atlantic and Makisha Lemonds of Halsted, KS; his sisters, Veranna Huscher of Sioux City, IA, and her children, Jason and Marci Huscher; Stephaine and Christopher Gosch and Kristofer Donner, all of Sioux City, IA; Rhonda Richards and husband, Jerry, of Defiance, IA, LaVerne Frybarger and husband, Brian, of Rapid City, S.D. and children, Michael, Nathan and Becki, LaVonn Schmidt of Rapid City, S.D. and children Kotie and Seth; and mother-in-law, Stella McCurdy of Audubon, IA. Kenneth was preceded in death by his step-father, Donald Jansen; brother-in-law, Steven Huscher and father-in-law, Arnold McCurdy.
There will be an open visitation at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, IA with a family visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, March 7, from 5:00 to 7:00. Services for Kenneth will be on Thursday, March 8, at 3:00 pm at the Roland Funeral Home with Pastor Stephen Frock officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Hancock.
