Vada Willis, age 75, formerly from McLeansboro, Illinois, passed away Thursday morning, February 4, 2010, at the Allen House in Atlantic, IA.Vada was born to William and Julia (Harrelson) Mitchell on December 28, 1934 in Hamilton County, Illinois. She worked for years as a bookkeeper for Nevlin Moving and Storage in Alton, Illinois. She was married to James Raymond Hunter and after his death, to Russell Willis. She was a member of Eastern Star and a protestant by faith.Survivors include a son Alan Hunter and wife Karen from Lewis, IA; grandchildren, Wendy Hunter of Plymouth, Nebraska, Shane Bruns of San Diego, California and Charles Bruns of Lavista, Nebraska; great grandchildren, Josie Piper, Savanna Bruns, Joshua Bruns, Anthony Vo and Alex Vo; brothers, William Mitchell and wife Trudy of Evansville, Indiana, Robert Mitchell and wife Flora of Montgomery, Illinois, Ted Mitchell and wife Kathryn of McLeansboro, Illinois, Don Mitchell and wife Dixie of Kevil, Kentucky and Thomas Mitchell of Riverview, Florida; sisters, Nadine Duay of Morris, Illinois and Mary Cluck of McLeansboro, Illinois.Vada was preceded in death by her parents; first husband James Raymond Hunter and second husband Russell Willis.Funeral InformationServices for Vada will be held on Tuesday, February 9, at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro, IL, at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Robert Sefried and Reverend Ted Mitchell officiating. Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery in McLeansboro. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Feburary 8, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM.
