Betty Jean Williams (Farrell)
Betty Jean Williams, 68, of Atlantic, passed away Monday, October 12, 1998, at Bishop Clarkson Hospital in Omaha.
Betty, the daughter of Clyde Clifford and Grace Lenora Pershing Farrell, was born at home December 1, 1929, in rural Clarinda, Iowa, where she grew up and graduated from Clarinda High School in 1948. Her marriage to Edward Kenneth Williams, Sr. took place August 28, 1950 in Bentonville, Arkansas. Betty was a homemaker and worked with her husband in the family business "William's Garage" for forty-eight years, retiring in November of 1992. Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Atlantic, Sarah Circle, U.M.W., and involved with Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts-H.
Surviving are her husband, Edward Williams, Sr. of Atlantic; five children, Edward K. Williams, Jr. (Kenny) of Atlantic, Patty Williams of Atlantic, Bryan Williams and his wife, Deb, of Aledo, Texas, David Williams of Atlantic and Cathy Renaud and her husband, Craig, of Atlantic; eight grandchildren, Jenny Madsen and husband, Brad, of West Des Moines, Matt Williams and his wife, Jenny, of Atlantic, Jill Williams of Storm Lake, Iowa, Paul Williams of Johnston, Iowa, Christopher, Amanda and Calley Williams of Aledo, Texas and Samuel Renaud of Atlantic; one great grandson, Alexander Williams of Atlantic; a number of nieces and nephews including Peggy and Steve Huddle, Rick and Pat Maca, all of Clarinda, Iowa, Bill and Dan White of Mesa, Arizona, and Gracie Getz of Ft. Myers, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Hazel Farrell of Clarinda, Iowa and Dorothy Frank of Villisca, Iowa; a brother-in-law, Norman Williams and his wife Marge of Lake City, Florida and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Ed's parents; one brother, Calvin Farrell; one sister, Beverly Hale; a nephew, Bobby Frank; a sister-in-law, Betty White; and cousins, Marvin and Thelma Williams.
