Shirley Will

Shirley Will, 72, of Atlantic, formerly of Anita, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016, at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha.

Shirley Ann was born on September 16, 1944, in Atlantic, Iowa, the daughter of Dale F. and Dorothy May (Peterson) Will. She attended school in Anita, Iowa.

Shirley's life centered around family, and her commitment of being there for them through thick and thin is something they will always treasure. There wasn't a day that went by that she didn't call to check in on her grandkids. She looked forward to family gatherings, especially during the holiday's. It was a regular occurrence that she would meet up with her sister, Judy, other family, and friends for a cup of coffee at the Downtowner and the Family Table. Lasting memories were created on many fishing and camping trips, and sitting around the table for a game of Rummy or Skip-Bo. In her spare time she enjoyed crossword puzzles and volunteering for the women's auxiliary at Atlantic Specialty Care. She had a need for speed and wanted the rides she was given on motorcycles and snowmobiles to be fast. Shirley's life was also fulfilled by her faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and always felt her church was her second family.

Shirley will be deeply missed by her family that includes her children, Larry Will, John (Teresa) Eichelberger and Christy Will and her fiancé, Levi Stice; seven grandchildren, Gayle, Nicole, Tyler, Eleise, Atreyu, Maria, Drew; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Baier; her church family; and many extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at 1st Assembly in Atlantic. Burial will be in the Atlantic Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church on Wednesday.
