DOUGLAS ALFRED WHITEDoug White, age 54, of Atlantic, Iowa passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic. Douglas Alfred White was born to Doug Alfred and Barbara Jean (Copley) White on December 2, 1953 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He lived in Pipestone, Minnesota, Texarkana, Texas and Boulder, Colorado before moving to Atlantic, Iowa where he graduated from the Atlantic High School with the class of 1972. On August 25, 2007, Doug was united in marriage to Elizabeth (Beth) Hair. He was employed by REM for the past 20 years. Doug was a member of the Eagles, Cass County Pool League of which he was the director, Abate and H.O.G. He loved to motorcycle, the H.O.G. rallies and also playing pool. He especially enjoyed seeing his granddaughter. He is survived by his wife, Beth of Atlantic; two sons, Matthew Jon Alfred White of Alton, Iowa and Douglas Josiah White of Sheldon, Iowa; one granddaughter Maysun Kai White of Alton; his mother Barbara Jean (White) Harris of Atlantic; one sister Susan Anne Katzer and husband Joseph; one brother John Burliegh White of Atlantic; three nephews, Jonathan, Tony and Joe White.Doug was preceded in death by his father Doug White.Funeral InformationA funeral service for Doug will be held on Monday, April 7, at 11:00 A.M. at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic with Pastor Date Kesterson officiating. A visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the services.
