Irma Ethel Weppler
Irma Ethel Weppler, 93, a resident of Lewis, Iowa, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2002 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic.The daughter of Edward and Sophia (Schrader) Rabe, Erma was born July 22, 1909 southeast of Griswold, Iowa where she grew up. She married Lloyd Martin Weppler on December 31, 1932 in Maryville, Missouri. They farmed on the Weppler farm in Bear Grove Township for twenty-five years before moving to Lewis. Irma was a member of the United Congregational Methodist Church in Lewis where she was active in the women's group. She served twenty years as president of the Ladies Oakwood Cemetery Association. Irma love cooking, gardening and eating out.Surviving is a son Duane Weppler and his wife Lois of Lewis; one grandson Gregory Weppler and his wife Diane of Malvern, Iowa; one granddaughter Christine Weppler of Corning, Iowa; two great grandsons, Aaron and Adam Weppler; one great-granddaughter McKala Weppler; one great step grandson Mike Coates; one brother Lester Rabe and his wife Florence of Jefferson, Iowa; and a number of nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lloyd; one daughter Norma Jean; one sister Evelyn Rabe Brown Ashley; a brother and infant sister; and a grandson Jeffrey Weppler.Funeral InformationServices for Irma will be held on Monday, December 16, 2002 at 10:30 A.M. at the Lewis United Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Sharon Guffey-Lewis officiating. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery at Lewis.
