Bart Webb

Bart G. Webb, 92, of Atlantic, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at Heritage House, in Atlantic.

Bart was born in San Bernardino, CA, on November 20, 1922, the 7th of 8 children born to Walter Raymond and Millie (Cheshire) Webb. He graduated from Colton High School in Colton, California in 1941. During WWII, he attended several colleges in the Midwest for Naval Officer's Training. On December 25, 1945, he married Margaret P. Zacharitz in Davenport, Iowa. She died in 1973. Bart worked for the Pacific Telephone Company from 1946 until retiring in 1982. He married Beverly L. Paul on February 17, 1978, and they moved from San Diego, CA to Atlantic in January of 1987.

Bart attended the First Baptist Church in Atlantic, belonged to the Cass County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and was a past member of Nishna Hills Golf Course. He delivered Meals on Wheels for 18 years and volunteered at Washington Elementary and the Atlantic Middle School for 25 years. He loved the game of tennis, and spent much time honing his skill in the sport.

Bart is survived by his wife, Beverly; grandchildren, Todd and Scott Webb; great-grandchildren, Julia, Brandon and Adam Webb; step-children, Terrie Coman of San Diego, CA, Julie Paul of Broomfield, CO, Daniel (Nina) Paul of Redding, CA, and Timothy Paul of Beaverton, OR; step-grandchildren, Christopher Coman, Heather Cassidy and Xeena Paul and step-great-grandchildren, Madison Coman and Lily and Jackson Cassidy.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; sons, Terry and Mark Webb; step-daughter, Kristi McCullough; daughter-in-law, Cathy Webb; sisters, Ruth, Mildred, Margaret, Doris and Lois; and her brothers, Horace, Willard and Albert.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at the Atlantic Cemetery, with Pastor Diane L. Schmidt of the First Baptist Church officiating.
