PAUL F. WALTER Paul Frederick Walter, 81, died at his home in rural Atlantic, Iowa on Saturday evening, February 9, 2008. Paul was born the son of Fred C. and Pauline M. (Harmsen) Walter on January 25, 1927 in Brighton Township. He attended Brighton Country School No. 6. On February 22, 1950 he married Dorothy Pieken in Atlantic. Unto this union were born seven children. He later married Connie Faye Jensen in Atlantic, Iowa on March 27, 2000. He was a lifelong area farmer until retiring in 1992, due to health problems. He pursued his interests and hobbies which included his membership in the Cass County Pool League and his bowling league of 40 years. Paul was proud of his family of six daughters and a son; he liked to share a good joke; and enjoyed his grandchildren very much. He will be remembered for the love he shared with his dog "Teddy Bear&" who always rode in the pickup with him. He is survived by his wife Connie; his children, Marlene Walter of Exira, IA, Connie Burg and her husband Charles of Atlantic, IA, Linda Marxen of Lewis, IA, Cindy Paulsen and her husband Howard of Brayton, IA, Sandy Walter of Atlantic, IA, his son Mark Walter and wife Sheri of Atlantic, IA, and Tracy Flathers and her husband Alyn of Treynor, IA; 19 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; his brother Henry Walter and his wife Mardell of Elk Horn, IA; and sisters Annabelle Lange and husband Gail of Atlantic, IA, Carolyn Johnson and her husband Jack of Atlantic, IA, Emogene Barringer and her husband Jack of Ames, IA; his sister-in-law Mardelle Maley of Atlantic, IA; his Aunt Leona Petersen of Avoca, IA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; his Aunt Emma Campen; his brother Donald Walter and a niece Janelle Walter.Funeral InformationServices will take place at 10:30 Wednesday, February 13 at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic. Pastor Leon Hodges of Atlantic will officiate. The committal service will be in the Brighton Township Cemetery northeast of Marne, Iowa.
