Obituary for Ruth Maxine Wallace

Ruth Maxine Wallace, 93, of Atlantic, passed away after a long illness Wednesday, May 16, 2001 at Heritage House where she had been a resident.The daughter of James Monroe and Lulu Mae Marsell Shore, ruth was born November 24, 1907 in New Market, Iowa shere she grew up and graduated from high school in 1925. She graduated from Caster Beauty Academy in St. Joseph, Missouri where she and her husband, Delbert Kelly, operated her beauty academy for eighteen years. She retired to Florida. She was united in marraige to Basil Wallace on November 12, 1971, in Clearwater, Florida. They moved to Atlantic in 1988 to be near her sister, Helen Odem.Surviving are one sister, Helen Odem, of Atlantic and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Basil, in 1991; two brothers, Eddy (in infancy) and Lloyd Shore in 1953; and one sister, Vesta Dudley.Funeral InformationFollowing private family viewing and cremation, the cremated remains will be in the Old Memory Cemetery in the family lot at New Market, Iowa at a later date.
