Obituary for Carol L. Wallace

Carol Louise Wallace, 59, was born July 15, 1947, to Clifford B. and Dorothy (Lang) Wright in Massena, Iowa. Carol passed away on Wednesday, July 19, at her home in Atlantic. She grew up in the Norway Center and Wiota areas and graduated from Atlantic High School in 1965. She was united in marriage to Dell Wallace, August 30, 1975, at the home of her parents. Carol was a seamstress and worked for Hensley Clothing Store for several years.Carol enjoyed making and hand quilting quilts as well as tailoring and recently completed approximately 100 lap robes which were given to local retirement homes and hospitals. She was a loving daughter and always willing to lend a helping hand.She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Atlantic, Order of Eastern Star for 30 years, Rebekah Lodge, Ladies Auxiliary Patriarch Militant, Ladies Encampment Auxiliary, Past Grand Matriarch of Grand Ladies Encampment Auxiliary, and was presently Grand Treasurer of Grand Ladies Encampment Auxiliary and a member of the Cass County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Carol is survived by her mother, Dorothy Wright of Atlantic; sisters Shirley Jacobsen and husband Floyd of Atlantic and Roma Gerry of Omaha; brother Clifford C. Wright and his wife, Nova of Wiota; step children, Deb Cooley, Larry Wallace, David Wallace, Marcia Wallace, Brian Wallace and Kevin Wallace; step grand children; numerous nieces and nephews; grandnieces and nephews; her aunt, Mariann Collins; her uncle, Dale Cole of Omaha; and several cousins. Carol is preceded in death by her father, Clifford B. Wright and her husband, Dell Wallace.There will be an Eastern Star Service at the Roland Funeral Home, at 6:00 P.M., Friday evening, open to everyone, followed by a visitation from 6:30- 8:30 P.M.Services will be held on Saturday, July 22, at 10:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Gary DeGeest officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.
