Obituary for Loretta Jean Wagner

LORETTA JEAN WAGNER Loretta Jean Wagner of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic at the age of 89.Loretta Jean Lindeman was born January 15, 1921 to Fred Adam and Geneva Alice (Lackey) Lindeman at their home southeast of Lewis, Iowa. She attended school at Bear Grove # 9 then Lewis High School where she graduated with the class of 1938. On September 28, 1940, Loretta was united in marriage to Hebert Wagner in Lewis. Loretta enjoyed gardening and was a wonderful cook. She also made baby quilts, enjoyed reading, playing the guitar, singing and writing poems. Loretta was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Atlantic. Her favorite things were flowers and pets, especially dogs. The loves of her life were her grandchildren, Nicole and Lacy Wagner, Richard Wagner, Laurie (Wagner) Reber, April and Jonathan Wagner and Chad Darrow (Wagner) and her great grandchildren, John and Chase Reber, Kayden Wagner and Isabelle Wagner. She is survived by three sons, Fred A. Wagner and his wife Karen of Eugene, OR, William J. Wagner of Hillsboro, OR, and Mike H. Wagner and his wife Pam of Lewis, IA; her seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; one sister, Lorraine Vedane of Lakewood Ranch, FL; a special cousin, Lucille Alff of Lewis, IA and a number of nieces and nephews.Loretta is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Geneva Lindeman; husband Herbert Wagner in 2003; father-in-law and mother-in-law, August and Etta Wagner; brother-in-law Paul Vedane; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Virgil and Helen Lembke, Glen and Fern Wagner and Harold and Lois Wagner.Funeral Information There will be an open visitation at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa from 8:00 - 5:30 Thursday, July 8, with a family visitation in the evening from 6:00 - 8:00. The funeral service for Loretta will be held at Roland Funeral Home on Friday, July 9, at 10:30 AM with Pastor Lanette Plambeck of the First United Methodist Church, in Atlantic, officiating.
