Obituary for Kenneth Leroy Turk

Kenneth Turk, 82, long time resident of Atlantic, died at the Cass County Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, December 6, 2005.Kenneth was born in Atlantic, Iowa on February 19, 1923, the son of William Henry and Edna May (Cartwright) Turk. He attended school in the Atlantic system. Kenneth was married to Betty Jean Avey on September 22, 1945 in Atlantic. He was self-employed as a contractor until he retired in 1977. He was a member of the National Guard and served in the Army as a Corporal in the 168th Infrantry. Kenneth was taken prisoner of war during World War II. He was a member of Ex Prisoners of War, D.A.V., American Legion, and V.F.W. He enjoyed his family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and enjoyed being ornery with all his friends and family.He is survived by his wife, Betty of Adair, his daughter, Sherry Fox and husband, Roger of Casey; his son, Monte Turk and wife, Donna Sue of rural Adair; his daughter, Kenna Reha of Adair; a sister, Carolyn Butcher and husband, Jim of Atlantic; his brother, Owen Turk and wife, Sandy of Exira; grandchildren, Jodie Wilbourne, Lindsay Jahde, Jon Fox, Hope Gettler, Jeremy Reha, Mark Reha, Beau Reha, Cody Turk, Chris Turk, Tom Vorrath, Rob Vorrath; great grandchildren, Jade Wilbourne, Jasmine Wilbourne, Samantha Jahde, Jacob Fox, Tessa McCuen, Shy Terry, Brooklyn Terry, Charlie Terry, Mollie Gettler, Cole Reha, Evan Reha; and two brothers-in-law, Maynard Avey and wife, Bev of Glen Haven, Colorado and Ronald Avey and wife, Connie of Lawrence Kansas.Kenneth is preceded in death by his father and mother; his step mother, Viola; great grandson, Josie Black Wilbourne; his Grandpa and Grandma Cartwright; and his brother-in-law, Gerald Avey.Funeral InformationFuneral: 12/9/2005, 2:00:00 PM At the Roland Funeral Home in AtlanticBurial: Atlantic Cemetery
