Ruth Toothman

Ruth Kluever Toothman, age 90, of 1100 50th Street, West Des Moines, Iowa, died Sunday, August 10, 2003, at her home. Mrs. Toothman was born in Chicago, IL. She was a former teacher in Illinois and Iowa. She was married to Carl Kluever of Atlantic, also a teacher and superintendent of schools. He died in 1970. In 1982 she married Maurice Toothman of Des Moines. He died in 1993. Ruth was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Atlantic, Covenant Presbyterian Church in West Des Moines, Golden Rule Chapter of Eastern Star in Atlantic and the Za Ga Zig Shrine Auxiliary of Atlantic.She is survived by a daughter Mary Ellen Lowder of Atlantic; a granddaughter Chevonne; two grandsons, Carol James and Roy Wayne; a sister Dorothy Kutta or Riverside, IL; two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.Funeral InformationServices will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Dunn's Funeral Home and 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic. Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 13 at Dunn's Funeral Home and from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic. Memorial contributions may be made to the Covenant Presbyterian Church of West Des Moines.
