Tim Planck

Tim N. Planck, 57, of Atlantic, Iowa, died Saturday, October 9, 2021, at his home.

On December 26, 1963, Tim was born to Jack and Darlene (Kuhr) Planck in Eldorado, Kansas. Shortly after his birth the family moved to Liberty, Missouri and eventually to Atlantic, Iowa in 1968. Tim excelled in academics, despite seldom studying, and in athletics. He especially enjoyed his success in track and field. In 1982, Tim graduated from Atlantic High School. During high school Tim worked at HyVee, which eventually became his life-long career. Tim’s outgoing, friendly and welcoming personality, claiming to never know a stranger, made him the perfect fit to thrive in the retail food industry.

While working for HyVee, Tim was transferred to Des Moines, Indianola, Fort Dodge and eventually back to Atlantic. While living near Des Moines, Tim also worked at Wells Fargo Bank as a loan officer and at Principal Financial as a staff trainer. He was an outdoorsman and looked forward to going on hunting and fishing excursions with his best buddies. Tim had a keen eye for restoring old vehicles back to mint condition and took great pleasure in his renewed Chevy Nova.

Ultimately, Tim’s favorite pastime was being a musician. He played in numerous bands throughout his life and recently started a band with six of his friends. Tim was best known for his guitar riffs but could play other instruments as well. He treasured his time with friends and just hanging out with his Australian Shepard, Keno. GO VIKINGS!

Tim is survived by his parents, Jack and Darlene Planck of Atlantic; brother, Thad (Sheiree) Planck of Atlantic; sister, Kelly Planck of North Palm Beach, Florida; brother, Chip (Acacia) Planck of Omaha, Nebraska and many beloved friends.

Tim is preceded in death by his grandparents and uncles, Ray Planck, Harold Planck and Dale Kuhr.

Cremation has taken place and an open visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday, October 18th at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic. No visitation with the family present is planned. A private family inurnment will be held at Hollst-Lawn Cemetery, near Yutan, Nebraska.
