Tim Sellers, 76, of Atlantic, Iowa, died Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at his home.
Timothy (Tim) Arthur Sellers was born to Arthur and Ruth (Jewett) Sellers in Jackson, Michigan on November 22, 1946. While growing up in areas of the Midwest and West Coast, Tim developed a strong desire to play the guitar. By the time he became a teenager in Los Angeles, his musical talents resulted in winning the weekly “Squeakin Deacon” live radio show so many competitions in a row that he was not allowed to compete any longer. After playing in numerous bands throughout the Midwest he took his skills to Nashville where he eventually played backup guitar for Ricky Skaggs.
In the early 60’s, Tim met and married Cindy Fuller while living in Arkansas. Together they had two children, Michael and Amber. Years later Tim moved to Atlantic and married Audrey Daughenbaugh on August 21, 1991. He and Audrey enjoyed their years together until her passing in 2008. Tim continued playing his guitar in venues throughout the Midwest playing for numerous bands until his health would no longer allow. His days of picking the guitar may be over, but the memories will last forever.
Tim is survived by his son, Michael Sellers; sister, Marty (Dave) Kudick of Bellevue, Nebraska; brothers, Daniel Sellers of Atlantic and Larry (Jeannie) Sellers of Atlantic; step-children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He his preceded in death by his wife, Audrey (Daughenbaugh) Sellers; daughter, Amber Shaw; parents, Arthur and Ruth (Jewett) Sellers; and sister, Lori Harris.
