Eleanor Tibken

Eleanor Collier (Knop) Tibken, 90, passed away Thursday morning, April 12, 2007 at the Heritage House in Atlantic, Iowa.She was born February 5, 1917 in Atlantic, Iowa, the daughter of Walter F. and Cordia (Collier) Knop. Eleanor graduated from Atlantic High School and then took normal training before teaching country school for several years. On December 20, 1939, Eleanor married Albert Henry Tibken at the Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic, Iowa. Eleanor was an active member of Ladies Aid (LWML), Cass County Cattle Women Association, Wiota Garden Club and National Rose Society. She loved gardening.She is survived by her children, Richard and Martha Tibken of Cumberland, Patricia and Gene Nilan of Lincoln, NE, James and Pam Tibken of Wiota, JoEllen Morgan of Lenexa, KS and Robert Tibken of Shelby; grandchildren, Julie and Jeremy Ecklin of Cumberland, Michael and LeAnn Tibken of Anita, Mark and Colleen Nilan of Bangor, ME, Jeffery Nilan of Bloomington, IN, Alicia and Stephen Roach of Glendale, AZ, Matthew and Amanda Morgan of Kansas City, KS, Grant Morgan of Denver, CO, Shara, Brooke and Tucker Tibken of Wiota; great grandchildren, Nathan, Jessica and Jocelyn Joy, Benjamin and Abigail Tibken, Walker and Avery Nilan, and Jackson Nilan; a brother, Raymond and Ardis Knop of Atlantic; a sister-in-law, Ruth (Knop) Jensen of Atlantic and many nieces and nephews.
