Cecil Dean Teague
Cecil Dean Teague, 78, of Atlantic, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2001, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa.The son of Lemuel Monroe and Avis Audra (Rowe) Teague, Cecil was born April 4, 1923 southwest of Early, Iowa where he grew up and graduated from high school. He attended college at Purdue University and served in the United States Army during World War II. His marriage to Nelda Mae Gray took place October 21, 1945 in Nemaha, Iowa. After their marriage they lived in Sac City, Lytton, and Fort Dodge, Iowa before moving to Atlantic in 1962. Cecil worked in insurance sales for Federated Insurance retiring on November 1, 1982. Cecil was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Atlantic. He was also a member of Lions Club, Kiwanas and the Atlantic Elks Lodge.Surviving are his wife Nelda; one daughter Paula Odem and husband Jim of Tucson, Arizona; two sons, Bruce Teague and wife Jackie of Stoughton, Wisconsin and Steve Teague and wife Elaine of Atlantic; seven grandchildren, Darci Lee and husband Keith, Darin Odem and wife Tracy, Debi Bohnet and husband Adam, Shana Teague, Jonie Teague, Erin Teague and Kelsie Teague; three great-grandchildren, Kayla Odem, Logan Odem and Jordan Bohnet; four sisters, Phyllis Hulsebus and husband David of Defiance,Iowa, Naomi Schafer of Storm lake, Iowa, Ileta Barclay and husband George of Sioux City, Iowa and Lois Ellesworth of Sioux City, Iowa; two brothers, Dudley Teague and wife Janis of Manhatten, Kansas and Russell Teague and wife Margaret of Auburn, Iowa and a number of nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, George and William Teague; two sisters, Dorothy Burrows and Marjorie Carver and three brothers-in-law, Jerry Schafer, Henry Carver and Don Ellesworth.Funeral InformationA memorial service will be held for Cecil on Saturday, November 24, 2001 at 11:00 AM at the First United Presbyterian Church Atlantic, Iowa following a graveside service at 10:00 AM at the Atlantic Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Atlantic Veterans Color Guard. Rev. Chuck Smith will officiate.
