Gladys (McConnell) Taylor, 89, formally of Wiota, IA. Died Friday, January 30, 2004 At the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Anita, Iowa where she had been a resident since December 5, 2003.The daughter of John and Florence (Stone) McConnell, she was born August 29, 1914 in Atlantic, Iowa. She attended Denton Center school through the eighth grade and graduated from Wiota high school in 1931. She was married to Mervyn Taylor June 14, 1933. Buddies join the Wiota United Methodist Church April 4, 1926 at age 12 and she was a lifelong member of the Wiota United Methodist Women. In 1977 she received her 50 European. She was a former member of the Atlantic Care Center Auxiliary. Gladys was a resident of Wiota for 85 years, a member of the local Chit Chat Club and was the Grand Marshal of the 2003 why would a Fall Festival Parade. She was a proud, feisty, sophisticated, independent, classy and attractive lady. We'll miss you Mom and Gram. We are blessed with many happy memories.She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sister Lorraine and a brother Bobby in infancy.Survivors include two sons and their wives, Duane and Florence Taylor of Wickenburg, Arizona and Dean and Jo Ann Taylor of Lincoln, Nebraska; a daughter JoLee Frisbee and husband can of Owatonna, MN: seven grandchildren, can't Taylor and wife Laurie, Dana Cooper and has been my all low Wickenburg, Arizona, Randy Taylor and wife Maria, Donna Benjamin and husband Bart all of Lincoln, Nebraska, Darla Delisle and husband Jeff of Prior Lake, MN., Jenee Frisbee of Mankato, Minnesota and Josh Frisbee of Indianapolis, Indiana; 11 great-grandchildren, Cody and Sierra Cooper and Tyler Taylor of Wickenburg, Arizona, Natalie and Hanna Taylor, Tristan, Marissa and Shantel Benjamin all of Lincoln, Nebraska, Katie Jo Ann Kelsey Delisle of prior Lake, Minnesota; a brother Jerry McConnell and wife Bette of Lodi, California.Funeral Information
