Obituary for Floyd William Sunderman

Floyd William Sunderman, 92, a resident of Griswold, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2002, at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa.The son of William Louis and Viola Catherine (Muller) Sunderman, Floyd was born January 30, 1910 near Griswold, Iowa. He lived his entire life on the farm and helped feed and raise cattle and hogs; was a contractor in the carpentry, plumbing and electrical business; and later he owned and operated a gas station five miles east of Griswold. He was united in marriage to Esther A. Mueller on September 7, 1938 in Griswold. He build a new home on the farm. Floyd was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Griswold and was a past Deacon.Surviving are his daughter, Sharon Webb and her husband, Claude, of Red Oak; two grandchildren, Kirk Webb and his special friend, Lisa Lamb, of Griswold and Jana Jessen and her husband, Rick, of Corning; four great-grandchildren, Paige and Reagan Jessen of Corning, Ashley and Whitney Lamb of Griswold; three sisters- in-law, Clara Sunderman and Edith Swisher of Griswold, and Helen Sunderman of Atlantic; one brother-in-law, Gilbert Mueller and his wife, Millie, of Atlantic.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two brothers, Orval and Lynn Sunderman.Roland Funeral Service -- Atlantic, IowaFuneral InformationServices for Floyd will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at the Central Church of Christ in Griswold, Iowa at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Troy Humphrey officiating assisted by Pastor Mark Imel from the Nishna Church of Christ in Red Oak, Iowa.Interment will be in the Weirich Cemetery southeast of Lyman, Iowa.
