Obituary for
Dean Sueck
Dean Sueck, 58, of Atlantic, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha.
The son of Donald and Gussie (Greene) Sueck was born November 10, 1957, at the Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C. He attended North Scranton High School in Scranton, Pennsylvania, graduating in the Class of 1975.
On June 14, 1976, he enlisted in the United States Navy. During his tour of duty he served as a Sail Maker and was stationed on a ship out of Norfolk, Virginia, where he toured various countries. Dean was honorably discharged on June 13, 1980.
Dean was united in marriage to Ronda Chambers on August 20, 1977, in San Diego, California. To this union four children were born. After their marriage he attended Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa, and received his Associates in Arts Degree. Dean was employed as an independent computer consultant for numerous years, until he was forced to retire due to his failing health in 2006. He was an avid reader, enjoyed working on computers, and playing video and trivia games. The most important thing in Dean's life was his family and he looked forward to spending time together.
Dean is survived by his wife, Ronda of Atlantic, IA; children, Timothy (significant other, Lauren Metzler) Sueck of Omaha, NE, Anthony (Michelle) Sueck of Omaha, NE, Tracey (Clayton) Sheeder of Griswold, IA, and Tara Sueck of Atlantic, IA; grandchildren, Jackson, Jeremy, and Jordan Sheeder; brother, Donald (Rowena) Zigga of Kenai, Alaska; sister, Jerri Diane Sueck of Philadelphia, PA; half-sister, Elizabeth Zigga; mother-in-law, Mildred Chambers of Atlantic, IA; foster mother, Joan Maher of Marlton, NJ; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe (Joyce) Chambers of Cadyville, NY, Mary (Rod) Stoner of Iowa Falls, IA, Bill Dean (Carla) Chambers of Harlem, MT, Jerel Chambers of Sacramento, CA, Royd (Barb) Chambers of Sheldon, IA, Ranae (Robert) Schelp of Gillman, IA; aunt and uncle, Carol (Berl) Robinson of Vallonia, IN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; twin siblings in infancy, David and Debra; Dean's twin brother, Danny Greene; father-in-law, Bill Chambers; and maternal grandparents, Israel and Beth Greene.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, July 30th at Roland Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 31st at Roland Funeral Home. Military honors will be given by the Atlantic Color Guard.
Memorials are encouraged to be given to the family for designation at a later date.
