Obituary for Thelma E. Stuetelberg

Thelma E. Stuetelberg Thelma Stuetelberg, age 79, of Atlantic, Iowa passed away at the Cass County Memorial Hosptial on Sunday evening, June 27, 2010. Thelma was born on October 12, 1930 to James O. Johnson and Hazel (Johnson) Johnson at Redvers, Saskatchewan in Canada. Her parents moved to Missouri and then to Iowa where she graduated from the Wiota High School. On March 17, 1951, Thelma was united in marriage to George Frederick Stuetelberg in the United Methodist Church at Wiota. She was employed at Walnut Grove for a number of years then at the First Whitney Bank in Atlantic. Thelma was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Atlantic. Friends and family will remember her for how much she loved her family and enjoyed time spent with them. Thelma enjoyed winters spent in Arizona, Florida and Texas and playing golf with family and friends. She was appreciative of the love and care shown to her by caregivers and friends at Jennie Edmundston Hospital, Cass County Memorial Hospital and Cass County Memorial Hospice. She is survived by her husband George of Atlantic; sons, Mark and wife Belinda of Cranberry Township, PA., David and wife Julia of Austin, TX., and Gary and wife Jane of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Lindsey Kelly and husband Brett, Brian and special friend Kristi, Ryan and wife Sandy, Eric, Tyler, Jessica and fiancé Matthew Davis, Mitchell and Kyle; two sisters, Lyla Weber and husband Jim of Anita, IA and Roberta Thompson and husband Bill of Omaha, NE.; one brother James Johnson of Denver, CO.; three sisters-in-law, Darlene Johnson of Chiefland, FL., Delma Bennett and husband Bill of Kimballton, IA., and Isla Stuetelberg of Atlantic, IA.; brother-in-law, Robert Stuetelberg of Atlantic; and a number of nieces and nephews. Thelma is preceded in death by her parents; a brother Jerrold Johnson; brothers-in-law, Fred Stuetelberg and Harold Stuetelberg; and sisters-in-law, Mildred Kerr and Janet Stuetelberg.Funeral Information There will be open visitation daily at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic from 8:00 to 5:30 with a family visitation on Wednesday, June 30, from 5:00 – 7:00. Services for Thelma will be held on Thursday, July 1, at the Roland Funeral Home at 10:00 AM with Pastor Lanette Plambeck of the First United Methodist Church officiating.
