Robert Stuetelberg

Robert A. Stuetelberg, 89, of Atlantic, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015, at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic.

Robert Antone was born on January 15, 1926, on the family farm near Wiota, the son of Frederick Henry and Gertrude Marie (Jorgensen) Stuetelberg. He grew up there and graduated from the Wiota High School in 1944. He was united in marriage to Janet Reeves on August 29, 1948, by the Rev. Howard Lindquist, at the First United Presbyterian Church in Atlantic. Robert was baptized as an infant in the United Methodist Church in Wiota and was an active member there all his life. He enjoyed time at the Heritage House, being involved with the many people and activities there. Robert took pride in the work he did on the Resident's Council.

Robert is survived by his two sons, Dennis (Laura) Stuetelberg of Atlantic and Brent (Pat) of Sun City, AZ; four grandchildren, Ben Stuetelberg of Chandler, AZ, Bethany (Shyrod) Long of Peoria, AZ, Tracy (Paul) Williams of Hawthorn Woods, IL and Nick Stuetelberg of Atlantic, IA; four great grandsons, Alex and Brady Williams and Trey and Kalin Long; one great-granddaughter, Chelsea Williams; sisters-in-law, Delma Bennett and Isla Stuetelberg; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friend, Win LaMaster.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Janet; siblings, Harold Stuetelberg, Mildred Kerr, George (Thelma) Stuetelberg and Fred Stuetelberg.

Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2015, in the main lounge of Heritage House in Atlantic.

A Celebration of Life for Robert will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 16, 2015, at the Wiota United Methodist Church, with Pastor Gary DeGeest officiating. Lunch will be served in the fellowship hall immediately following the service. Burial will be in the Atlantic Cemetery following the luncheon.

Memorials may be made to the Wiota United Methodist Church and Heritage House Good Samaritan Fund.
