Harold Stuetelberg

Harold Henry Stuetelberg, formerly of Wiota, Iowa, passed away Monday, September 25, 2006 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital at the age of 85 years.Harold was born on April 24, 1921, on the farm east of Wiota, to Frederich Henry and Gertrude (Jorgensen) Stuetelberg. He attended school in Wiota where he graduated from high school. On April 15, 1945, Harold was united in marriage to Delma Smith. He enjoyed farming and they continued to farm east of Wiota for 32 years retiring and moving to Atlantic in 1977. Harold was a member of the Masons, the Shriners, Oddfellows, Eastern Star, Wiota United Methodist Church and the Iowa Flying Farmers. He owned his own plane and made many flights. One flight that was a highlight for him was piloting a small plane to Florida. He also enjoyed reading and his favorite food was chicken. Harold was a kind and loving man with a good sense of humor.He is survived by his wife, Delma of Atlantic; three children, Martin Stuetelberg and wife, Cheryl of Omaha, NE, Nancy Nolte of Atlantic and Lori Schroder and husband, Fay of Atlantic; 11 grandchildren, Brian (Tammy) Fagan, Kevin (Nannette) Fagan, Joy Fagan, Martha Stuetelberg, Beau Stuetelberg, Wendy (Troy) Hardisty, Melissa (Jeremy) Seufert, Nichole Nolte and fiancé Chet Deranek, Blain Nolte and friend Kristal Hardisty, Sara Schroder and friend Brandon Benton and Megan Schroder and fiancé Mitch Burg; two brothers George (Thelma) Stuetelberg and Robert Stuetelberg; one sister, Millie Kerr; one sister-in-law Isla Stuetelberg and 14 great grandchildren.Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Frederich and Gertrude; one son, Allan Lynn Stuetelberg at the age of four; one granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Schroder in infancy; one brother, Fred Stuetelberg and a sister-in-law, Janet Stuetelberg.Services for Harold will be on Friday, September 29, at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic at 10:00AM with interment in the Atlantic Cemetery.
