Pam Straka

Pamra Charleen Straka, 63, of Atlantic, Iowa, died Friday, October 2, 2020, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

The daughter of Ronald Howard and Edna Bernice (LaDelle) Murray, was born April 24, 1957, in Monterey, California. She attended school graduating with the High School Class of 1974. After school, she attended college receiving her business degree. Throughout Pam’s life, she was a devoted housewife raising her family. In 2005, she moved to Davenport, Iowa until she made Atlantic her home in 2009.

On August 5, 2017, she was united in marriage to Robert Joseph Straka at the New Life Church in Atlantic. They enjoyed attending the Cass County Fair and the Iowa State Fair. She loved vacationing in Branson, Missouri with Bob and also, they cherished their time camping and fishing together. Her hobbies ranged from a love of singing to attending the figure 8 races in Audubon County. Her faith was very important to her and she was close to her church family.

Pam is survived by her husband, Robert Straka of Atlantic; her sons, Michael Pennington of Atlantic, Steven (Corla) Pennington of Salem, Oregon, Tommy Pennington of Redman, Oregon, Aaron Straka of Washington, and Randall (Mary) Straka of Omaha, Nebraska; her grandchildren, Stevenray Pennington Jr. and Aaron Pennington both of Salem, Michael Pennington of Redman, Mary Straka and Marla Straka both of Omaha; her brother, Tim (Brenda) Murray of Salem; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Ronald Murray; and her sister-in-law, Patricia (Carl) Haas.

There will be an open visitation on Thursday, October 8, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Roland Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 9, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic with Pastor Ben Winford officiating. Interment will be in the Brighton Township cemetery northeast of Marne.
