Anita Stephenson

ANITA STEPHENSON Anita Stephenson, age 91, of Atlantic, Iowa, and formerly of Anita and Adair, passed away Wednesday morning, May 12, 2010, at the Atlantic Nursing and Rehab Center in Atlantic, Iowa. Anita was born the daughter of Chris and Kristina Christensen on December 15, 1918, near Anita, Iowa. She attended school in the Anita, Iowa area. She was married to Cecil Stephenson on April 21, 1937 in Spencer, Iowa. The couple was blessed with a son. Anita loved her family; was an avid bowler, loved watching sports and especially loved The Pittsburgh Steelers. Her survivors include her son Kent Stephenson and wife Shirley of Lake Panorama, Iowa; two grandchildren, Heidi Fenner (Mike) of Seattle, WA and Kyle Stephenson (Tina) of New Orleans, LA; three great grandchildren, Owen Fenner, Olivia Fenner and Clifford Ledet; and a number of nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in passing by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Henry, Leo and Kenneth and three sisters, Anna Scott, Leila Wheatley and Leora Stephenson. Anita's family will meet with relatives and friends at 10:30 Tuesday, May 18 at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, a half hour prior to her memorial service - to be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 18, also at the funeral home. Pastor Dennis Meyer, of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Atlantic, will officiate.
