Pamela “Pam” K. (Alexander) Steffen

Pam Steffen, 56, of Atlantic, Iowa passed away Saturday October 27, 2012 at her residence south of Atlantic.

The daughter of LaVern G. and Lorraine (Ingram) Alexander, she was born February 11, 1956 in Atlantic.

She loved music, singing, crossword puzzles, and cross stitching. She also loved spending time outdoors. She loved animals, especially her cats, and would also make a special effort to feed the squirrels no matter where she lived. Like her mother before her, she was an excellent cook and baker. She had a great sense of humor and was always quick with a joke.

She loved her job at Hy-Vee where, among other things, she would bag and carry out groceries. She loved to interact with her co-workers and the customers. Her co-workers at Hy-Vee, and as well as other jobs, also enjoyed working with her. She liked to work hard, but have fun doing it.

Surviving her are one sister Jan Gardner and husband Steve; One daughter Tiffany Linhardt and husband Justin of Fort Ripley MN; four sons: Trevor Benge and wife Tara of Corning, IA; Alex and wife Kathryn of Jacksonville, NC; Nathan and Nikkoli Steffen of Riverview, FL; five grandchildren, Bryanna, Logan, Oakley, Josslynn, and Lauren.

A shared service will be held for Pam and her father, LaVern Alexander, who passed away Friday, November 2nd, 2012, at the Heritage House. Pam and LaVern’s service will be held at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 11am. There will be open visitation on Tuesday, November 6 from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Family will meet with the friends from 5 to 7pm, also on Tuesday evening, at the Roland Funeral Home. The shared committal service at Oakwood Cemetery will follow the funeral/memorial. Pastor Jason Zaiger of the Atlantic Church of Christ will officiate.
