Margery Stamp

Margery "Marge" Arlene (Burger) Stamp, 79, passed away at Heritage House in Atlantic, Iowa on Saturday, November 3, 2007. Marge was born the daughter of Clarence and Faye (Aiken) Burger on December 27, 1927 in Waukee, Iowa. She was raised on a farm south of Waukee, attended school there and college at Northwest Missouri State College. She then taught in Atlantic. Marge was married to Donald H. Stamp on May 28, 1950 in Atlantic. The couple enjoyed raising their two sons on the Stamp Century Farm. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Atlantic and of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her hobbies have been gardening, needlepoint, walking, playing piano and violin and collecting violin bottles. Her favorite things were cats, cooking and canning and she especially enjoyed bicycling with RAGBRAI #6. Dearest to her were her family and grandchildren. Her family will fondly remember Marge as being a friend - patient, kind, thoughtful, gentle and generous, and always a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Donald of Atlantic; two sons, David Stamp and his wife Diane of Michigan and Darrell Stamp and his wife Jill of Walnut, Iowa; grandchildren - Robin Reiling of Michigan, Thomas Reiling and his wife Kelly of Michigan, Jeremy Stamp and his wife Lauren of Michigan, Alexander Stamp and his wife Cecilia of Omaha, Timothy Stamp and his wife Natasha of Indiana, Adam Stamp and his wife Nikky of Elkhorn, Nebraska; Erica Stamp of Lewis and six great-grandchildren - Ella, Isaac, Shane, Dominic, Jackson and Reagan Stamp.
