Janet Spielman

Janet Dorathea Spielman, 63, of Atlantic, passed away Friday, April 27, 2001, at the Jennie Edmundson Memorial Hospital in Council Bluffs.The daughter of Willard and Anna E. (Freshwater) Klimmek, Janet was born September 8, 1937 in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was reared in the St. Paul area and graduated from Harding High School in 1955. Janet was united in marriage to Bob Reller in St. Paul the same year. She was later married to Thomas Robert Spielman in June of 1974. She was a school administrator for the Department of Transportation in the Alhambra School District of Phoenix, Arizona, retiring in 1995. Janet moved to Atlantic with her beloved partner, Everett Northrup, in 1996.Surviving are her two daughters, Diane King and her husband, Stephen, of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota and Stephanie Spielman of Phoenix, Arizona; one son Michael Reller of Phoenix, Arizona; one granddaughter, Melissa King; one great-grandson, Kaelan King; two sisters, Joy Morris and her husband, Jerry, of St. Paul, Minnesota and Judy Buchner and her husband, Jerry, of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; one brother, Jeff Klimmek and his wife, Katherine, of Silver Bay, Minnesota; and a number of nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Tom.Funeral InformationA memorial service for Janet was held Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at 10:30 AM in the Lewis United Congregational Methodist Church with Pastor Sharon Guffey-Lewis of Lewis officiating.
