Obituary for Mable "Jackie" Scott
MABEL "JACKIE&" SCOTT Mabel "Jackie&" Scott of Ft. Myers passed away on July 23, 2008 surrounded by her family.
She was the loving wife of Harold C. Scott and both have lived in Ft. Myers for 34 years. Jackie and Harold were married for 69 years. She was born in Atlantic, Iowa on September 25, 1919, daughter of Jack and Agnes Peacock with whom she will be reunited in heaven. Jackie graduated from Atlantic High School and Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and settled in Atlantic Iowa until Harold's retirement from the Post Office. The couple then moved to Ft. Myers in 1974.
Also left behind to cherish her memory are her children John H. Scott (Christine) of Ft. Myers and Susan Drenning (Rodney) of Cape Coral. Jackie was surrounded by her grandchildren Angi Heuschling, Debby Marsh, Andria Fry, Jenifer Pease and J.J. Scott all from Ft. Myers and Cape Coral and another granddaughter, Jaime Smith of Frisco, Texas. Ten great-grandchildren also reside in the Ft. Myers-Cape Coral area with one more on the way.
Jackie loved to play golf at Seven Lakes and Whiskey Creek Golf Club where she scored 5 holes in one. She loved to play bridge and spent many happy years in retirement at Seven Lakes and Whiskey Creek. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Alzheimer"s disease tragically denied her the joy she deserved in her final years and the family would appreciate any donations to be made in her name to further Alzheimer"s Research or Hope Hospice.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Jackie will be laid to rest in Atlantic, Iowa on Saturday, August 2.
