ELIZABETH MATILDA SCHULTZ Elizabeth "Liz" Schultz of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away at the Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska on Friday, January 14, 2011, at the age of 62. Elizabeth Matilda Kimm was born November 15, 1948 to Silas Edward and Letha Celia (Reinke) Kimm in Guthrie Center, Iowa. She attended school at Adair Casey and was a high school graduate. Elizabeth joined the Iowa National Guard in May of 1976 On July 11, 1990 she was married to Michael Harold Schultz at the Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic. Elizabeth was honorably discharged from the Guard in September of 1996. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic, the DAV and the American Legion. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, puzzles, flowers and gardening and picking berries along the roadside. Elizabeth collected santas, bells, and items relating to Elvis Presley. Her most memorable trip was going to Pipestone National Monument in southwestern Minnesota. Surviving Liz are her husband, Michael, of Atlantic, sons, Patrick Schultz, Moses Chesmore and wife Amy, all of Atlantic and Wesley Chesmore of Soldier, KS and wife Mary of Seneca, KS; daughters, Laura (Brian) Stuetelberg and Eva Coatney of Atlantic; sisters, Anna Wilson of Harlan, IA and Dorothy Oliphant and husband John of Atlantic; grandchildren, Thea, Montana, Drake, Angel, Freedom, Koltien, Chelsey, Jerimiah, Zacharia, Ashley, Corin, Makayla, Kolton and great grandson Syris. She was preceded in death by her parents, Silas and Letha Kimm; brothers, Clarence Kimm, Edward Kimm, John Kimm and David Kimm.Funeral Information There will be an open visitation daily starting Monday at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, IA from 8:00 - 5:30 with the family visitation scheduled from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18. Services for Elizabeth will be held on Wednesday, January 19, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Ken Davidson officiating. Refreshments will be served following the service with a committal in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery southeast of Exira at 3:45 p.m. The Roland Funeral Home is caring for Elizabeth's family and her arrangements.
