Obituary for David E. Schroder

David Schroder, 84, formerly of Honey Creek, Iowa, died on Friday evening, November 30, 2007 at the Atlantic Nursing and Rehab Center in Atlantic, Iowa. David was born the son of William Ernest and Maggie (Hansen) Schroder in Honey Creek, Iowa June 12, 1923. He attended school and graduated with the Missouri Valley High School Class of 1943. He served as a sergeant in the Army during WWII. He was honorably discharged in 1945. David was married to Dorothy Pearl Newhouse in Council Bluffs, Iowa May 6, 1947. The couple enjoyed raising their family of eight children. When asked about his chosen profession, David frequently responded with, "I'm a jack of all trades and a master of none". His favorite thing in life was his family who will dearly treasure his memory. He is survived by his wife Dorothy; two sons, David Schroder and wife Suze of Phoenix, Arizona and Wes Schroder and wife Rena of Treynor, Iowa; five daughters, Denise Pilcher and her husband Dave of Ankeny, Iowa, Sheryl Albright and her husband Jim of Oakland, Iowa, Kitty Koontz and husband John of Kiron, Iowa, Robin Conner of Villisca, Iowa and Sharon Griggs and husband Jim of Pappillion, Nebraska; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
