ALEXIS LEIGH SCHMITT Alexis Leigh Schmitt of Atlantic, Iowa, age 15, passed away at the Cass County Hospice Center on Sunday, February 6, 2011. Alexis (Lexi) was born to Jason Allen Schmitt and Shannon Leigh (Boudle) Schmitt on July 24, 1995, in Atlantic, Iowa. She attended school at Washington elementary and the Atlantic middle school and was currently in the 9th grade. Lexi will be remembered for her never ending smile, even when she was ill. People loved her wonderful giggle and her playful nature. She brought strength to people by her never give up attitude about life even when it was hard. Lexi loved her cat and dog, her music and playing with her babies. Now she can play all day and never tire in Heaven. She is survived by her mother, Shannon Schmitt; brother, Austin Schmitt; half-siblings, Kyle, Aaron and Mallory; her father, Jason Schmitt and wife Leslie; grandparents, Bill and Charlotte Boudle; and great grandmother, Erma Thiessen, all of Atlantic; great grampa , William Boudle; two uncles, Mike Boudle and wife Shari of Ft. Calhoun, NE and Brent Boudle and wife Lori of Ozark, MO; cousins, Shay, Jaden, Dacey of Ft. Calhoun, NE and Ashley and Jordan Boudle of Denham Springs, LA; one great aunt, Sandi Ryan of Atlantic; numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins. Lexi also had many special friends. Lexi was preceded in death by her maternal great grandmother, Eda Boudle; uncle, Billy Boudle; paternal grandmother, Marcia Schmitt and her cat Sophie.Funeral Information The will be an open visitation at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic daily from 8:00 to 5:30 with the family meeting with friends on Thursday evening, February 10, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services for Lexi will be held on Friday, February 11, at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Atlantic with Pastor Lanette Plambeck officiating.
