Corita Saunders

Corita Theresa Saunders, age 91, a lifelong resident of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away August 27, 2008 at the Cass County Hospital. Corita Theresa Saunders, the daughter of John and Mary (Dolan) Saunders, was born July 17, 1917 in Cumberland, Iowa. She was a lifetime member of the Catholic Church and also a member of the Does, Atlantic Drove #23. Corita worked about 14 years at the Chevrolet dealership in Atlantic and then worked another 31 years at the abstract office in Atlantic. She was dedicated to her parents and siblings and lovingly cared for them in their illnesses. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, The Reverend Charles, Timothy and Gerald; and three sisters, Josepha, Regina and Sister Kathleen. Suvivors include a sister-in-law, Mildred Saunders of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; several cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends she made on her journey through life.Funeral InformationThere will be open visitation at the Roland Funeral Home. A rosary service for Corita will be held on Saturday, August 30, at 9:15 A.M. at the SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic with a funeral service to follow at 10:00 A.M. Father Dan Siepker will officiate.
