Alberta M. Sams
Alberta Mae Sams, 83, longtime resident of Atlantic, died unexpectedly in her home on Sunday, August 21, 2005. Alberta Sams was born, the daughter of Walter C. And Tracie Alice (Feldman) Sievers, in Walnut, Iowa, on January 9, 1922. She grew up and was schooled in Walnut, and graduated in 1940. On April 7, 1943, Alberta was married to Kenneth "Jack" Sams in Maryville, Missouri and enjoyed her life as a wife and mother. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic.Her interests were in gardening, her great grandchildren and antiques. Alberta will be remembered as a person who loved to talk.She is survived by her son Richard and his wife, Patricia; two grandchildren, Julie Ramer and her husband, Brad, and Kenneth Sams and his wife, Jennifer; her great-grandchildren Alexandra, and Isabelle Ramer; Kalin Ryan, Bryce Walker; Makayla Sams, Cera Jo and Dawson Sams, and Brooke Sams and one brother, Robert "Pete" Sievers.Alberta is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Tracie Sievers; her husband, Jack; her brothers, Harold, Raymond, Ralph, Leonard, Lester, Clifford, and Dale and one sister, Cora Wester. Services for Alberta will be Friday, August 26, at 10:00 A.M. at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic with Pastor Ken Davidson of the Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic, officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening, August 25, from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M.
