Keith Roland

Keith Roland, a life time Atlantic resident, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2004 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa at the age of 64.Keith was born to Burdette Leslie and Martha Elizabeth (Lindstum) Roland in Atlantic on January 20, 1940 He lived most of his life in Atlantic and graduated from Atlantic High School in 1958. He attended Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Missouri for one year. Keith entered the U.S. Army in May of 1960 and was stationed in Turkey. He loved nature and animals, especially cats. He enjoyed walking and he didn"t mind the ever-changing Iowa weather. He held a number of different positions of employment including working at Cook"s Sanitation, Ackerman Farms and a fishing pier in Florida. He primarily would seek work out of doors. Keith was a member of the First United Methodist Church.He is survived by two brothers, John B. Roland and Warren B. Roland and wife Amy; three nieces, Heidi Jo, Buffy Jo and Jo Beth Roland; three nephews, James Roland and wife Heidi Sarah, Burdette (BJ) Roland and Spencer Roland; two great nieces, Sophia Marguerite and Maria Elisabeth Roland; two great nephews, Peter James and William Amadeus Roland; a sister-in-law Sally Ayers and husband Russell; and a number of cousins and friends.Keith is preceded in death by his parents Burdette and Martha Roland and one brother James Louis Roland. who died in 1964.Memorials may be donated to the Veterans Hospital in Knoxville.Funeral InformationFuneral: Service will be held at the Roland Funeral Home 8/4/2004, 1:30:00 PM Burial: Atlantic Cemetery
