Josephine Robison

Josephine Robison, 92, longtime resident of Atlantic, Iowa and formerly of Anita, passed away at the Heritage House Sunday morning, August 7, 2005Jo was born west of Atlantic December, 15, 1912; the daughter of F.P. Comes and Bernadina Zimmerman Comes. She was schooled in the area and taught rural schools for seven years. She was a member of S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church where she was baptized as an infant and was a member of the C.C.W. of the church.Josephine was united in marriage to Louis B. Robison January 31, 1939 at the Catholic Church in Atlantic. For three years they lived southeast of Atlantic and then moved to a farm east of Anita where they spent 28 years. The couple enjoyed raising their son, Mervin, and the family will remember her for being a loving, protective and caring wife and mother and devoted to her friends. While they lived in Anita, Jo was a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church and was an active member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She and her husband moved to Atlantic in 1970. She was an active member of the Cass County Hospital Auxiliary for six years and an inactive member for many years. Jo loved gardening and playing cards, she was also active in delivering Meals on Wheels.Jo is survived by her husband Louie; one son, Mervin Robison and his wife, Judy of Omaha, Nebraska; two grandchildren, Jill and Jeff Robison and two great grandchildren, Madison and Kaden Robison.She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother who died in infancy; a brother, Raymond Comes and two sisters, Olga Allard and Mary Comes.Services for Jo will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2005, at 10:30 A.M. at the S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic with Father Daniel Siepker officiating. The wake will be held on Tuesday evening at 7:00 with visitation from 7:30 – 8:30 at Rolands. Burial will be in the Atlantic Catholic Cemetery.Jo's family has requested memorials be designated to the S.S.
