Glenn Roberts

Glenn Roberts, 93, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away Monday, March 20, 2006, at his daughter's residence.The son of Fred and Mary (Wycoff) Roberts, was born on November 16, 1912 in Grant, IA. Glenn attended country school in Grant. He married Evonia Marie Kjar on September 12, 1948 in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Glenn and Evonia enjoyed raising a family and farming at Anita, Iowa. After retiring in 1982 they moved to Atlantic to live. Following Evonia's death in 2000, Glenn remained in his home in Atlantic. In the summer of 2004, he moved to Des Moines to reside with his daughters. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.Glenn is survived by a son, Randy Roberts of Whiting,IA; two daughters, LaVonne Nichols and husband, Steve and Angela Reed and husband, Rodney, all of Des Moines; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Virgil Roberts and wife, Ona Mae of Cumberland, IA; sister-in-law, Opal Roberts of Corning, IA and several nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his wife, Evonia; parents; brothers, Max, Dale, Earl and his wife, Ruth, and Lewis and his wife, Leora; sister, Dorothy Roberts and infant daughter, La Donna Roberts.A visitation will be held an hour before the funeral. The funeral service for Glenn will be at 1:30 pm, Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, IA. Committal will be in the Exira Cemetery in Exira, IA.
