Robert "Bobby" Moretti

Robert “Bobby” Moretti, 72, of Atlantic, Iowa, died Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at his home.

Robert “Bobby” Leonard Moretti was born June 8, 1950, in Oak Park, Illinois, to Albert and Francis (Lee) Moretti. Bobby was a hard-working, physical young man who enjoyed playing varsity football and boxing in Chicago before deciding to move to a warmer climate, Phoenix, Arizona, in 1994. While in Phoenix, he met and married Linda Sue Lambson in 1995.

Early in Bobby’s career he was a successful heavy equipment repair man and was an active member of Mechanics’ Union Local 701.  After many years of repairing vehicles, he decided it would be easier to sell them rather than fix them.  Eventually he became dedicated to full-time auto sales after moving back to Iowa with his family. Throughout his life, Bobby was known as a tireless, hard- working, friendly, tough old Sicilian. He was knowledgeable, professional and dependable.  He seldom, if ever, took a day off.  He simply loved to work.  

Later in Bobby’s life, he was well known for his willingness to work hard for his friends and family when in need.  He had many friends who cared about him.  Arrivederci Bobby, we will miss you dearly.  

Bobby is survived by his wife, Linda Moretti, of Atlantic, Iowa; daughter, Kelly Tucker of Illinois; step-sons, Bobby (Amy) Lambson of Iowa, Danny Lambson of Iowa, Sean (Krissy) Lambson of Iowa; step-daughters, Angelina (Andrew) Rucker of Iowa, Tammy (Ron) Jeray of Iowa, Shannon (Kyle) Lambson of Iowa, and Shantel (Caleb) Neal of Indiana; sisters, Julie Pelc of Illinois, Diane Hopp of Illinois, and many grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Frances; granddaughter, Sommer Lambson; and grandson Killian Rucker.

A private family celebration will be scheduled for a later date.  

Memorials may be made to the family for later designation.
