Robert Richter

Bob Richter, 78, of Wiota, Iowa, died Saturday morning, March 4, 2006, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa.Bob was born in Adair on March 17, 1927, the son of William N. and Teresa (Hollinrake) Richter. He grew up in Adair and graduated from the Adair High School. Bob was married to Eloise "Elly&" Joyce Reichter on December 26, 1956 in Wiota. The couple lived in Wiota where they raised two sons. He worked in construction until 1990, and was a member of Saint Mary"s Catholic Church in Anita, the VFW (Post 8877), the American Legion (Post 210), and the Iowa fireman"s association. Bob served our country in the American Coast Guard. Surviving are his son, Timothy "Tim&" Richter of Wiota; his daughter-in-law, Val Miller and husband, Frank of Pirellas Park, Florida; his sister Josephine Ballensiefer and her husband, Joe of Wiota; his brother, James A. Richter and his wife Norma Jean of Adair; his sisters-in-laws, Janice Richter of Des Moines and Mable Richter of Anita; and a number of nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Carol Waters of Wiota.Bob was preceded in death by his parents- his wife, Elly- his son, Joseph Richter- brothers, Bernard Richter, Bernald Richter, Michael Richter, Paul Richter and a sister, Mary Perry. The family will meet with friends at Roland Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, March 7, for a Rosary at 6::00, and a visitation from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M., followed by a Scripture Wake service. Father Dan Seipker will officiate. Bob"s funeral will be held on Wednesday morning, March 8, at 10:00 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic. The committal service will be in the Atlantic Catholic Cemetery in Atlantic. Friends and relatives are invited to SS.
