Ellen Richter

Ellen Lillienthal Richter, 54, of Boone and formerly of Atlantic, died of cancer Tuesday, June 26, 2001 at the Mary Greenley Medical Center in Ames.She was born in Atlantic on August 16, 1946, the daughter of Carl and Doris "June&" (Headly) Lillienthal. She married William Richter in Anita, Iowa on November 13, 1965. She graduated from Atlantic High School in 1964. She was a homemaker and a bookkeeper in Carroll and then in Muscatine before moving to Boone four years ago. She was a production worker at the Gates Rubber Co., retiring in 2000 due to ill health. Her hobbies included bowling, camping, fishing and gardening.She is survived by her husband, William, of Boone; her father, Carl Lillienthal, of Atlantic; a son, Jason, of Yarmouth, Iowa; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Court Burkamper and Julie and Ken Foglesong, all of Boone; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Carl and Cindi Lillienthal and James Lillienthal, all of Atlantic; two grandchildren, Jaelynn and Caden Burkamper.She was preceded in death by her mother.Funeral InformationServices for Ellen were held Tuesday, June 30, 2001 at 10:30 AM at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic, Iowa with The Rev. Clem Currans from The Church of the Sacred Heart in Boone, Iowa officiating.
