Larry Richardson

Larry Richardson, 54, long time resident of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Tuesday evening, January 24th, 2006, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital.Larry was born on February 7th, 1951, in Elmo, Missouri, to Ray and Agnes Mae (Messinger) Richardson. He attended high school in Clarinda and graduated in 1969. He then attended Northwest Missouri State University. Larry was married to Mary Ruth Thompson on September 2nd, 1972. The couple was blessed with their two daughters, and Larry worked as a field tax auditor in the state of Iowa for 20 years. He enjoyed motor cycling, playing music, and aviation, being active in the Atlantic Airport Commission. He was a member and elder of the Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic. Larry served in the army reserve.Larry lived in Phoenix, AZ, New Market, IA, Clarinda, IA, and Atlantic, IA.Survivors include his wife, Mary; his two daughters, Leticia McBain and her husband, Michael, of Lee"s Summit, MO, and Stephanie McCoy and her husband, Cameron, of Kansas City, MO; two brothers, Gary L. Richardson and wife, Debra of Bennington, NE, Terry L. Richardson and wife, Karla of Bowling Green, OH; a sister, Loretta Warner of Clearview City, KS; his mother-in-law, Ruby Thompson of Clarinda, IA and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins.Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Agnes; father-in-law, Ray Thompson; brother-in-law, Stephen Thompson and niece, Jennifer Stogdill.The family will be meeting friends for a prayer service at the Roland Funeral Home on Friday evening, January 27 at 6 o"clock. A visitation will follow from 6:30–8:00 P.M. Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. in the Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic. Pastor Ken Davidson will be officiating. There will be a luncheon at the church following the service.
