Richard Pedersen

Richard Pedersen, 53, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, died Thursday, December 11th, 2025, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.

Richard was born to Lawrence Paul and Joann (Fudge) Pedersen on September 15, 1972 in Iowa City, Iowa. He grew up with his sister, Nancy, and parents in Oakland where he attended school and graduated in 1991 from Riverside High. He would spend most of his life working at Wings Truck Stop in Avoca, Iowa, until he moved to a group home in Council Bluffs where he would reside until his final days.

He loved living in Oakland and then moving to Council Bluffs where he had many friends and neighbors. He especially enjoyed visits with his brother, Larry, and the trip he took to Promise Keepers with a group of men from First Assembly of God Church in Atlantic.

He did not discriminate against any Casey’s Pizza or ice cream in general. And his two dogs that he cared for, for many years, were the loves of his life.

Richard is survived by his siblings, Larry (Karen) Pederson of Atlantic, Bill (Kristy) Pedersen of Atlantic, Betty Pederson of Winterset, IA, Sue (Bill d.) Clinton of Lawson, MO, Don Pederson of Atlantic and numerous beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Nancy, brother-in-law, and Bill Clinton.

No services are planned at this time.
