Lynda Lou Rhodes
Lynda Lou Rhodes, 47 a resident of 904 Poplar Street in Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2002 at her home.The daughter of Donald Earl and Betty Lou (Lamb) Ritter, she was born March 10, 1955, in Creston, Iowa. Lynda graduated from the East High School in Des Moines, Iowa. She was a special-education aide at the Atlantic High School for twenty-one years. Lynda was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Atlantic. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She enjoyed reading, being outdoors, and taking care for many plants and flowers.She is survived by three daughters, Nicole Rhodes of Atlantic, Brooke Rhodes of Iowa City and Amber Rhodes Atlantic; her fiancé, Todd Hanson, and his son, Travis, of Atlantic; her mother, Betty Lou Dye, of Des Moines; one brother, Elton Ritter and his wife, Barb, of Branson, Missouri; seven sisters, Connie Cook and her friend, Joe, of Des Moines, Carol Marquis and her husband, Dave, Judy Ablott, Vicki White and her husband, Bill, and Billie Miller, all of Des Moines, Sarah Cockburn and her husband, Mike, her twin sister, Cinda Funke and her husband, Gene, all of Greenfield; and her former husband, Rodney Rhodes of Atlantic.Lynda was preceded in death by her father, Donald Earl Ritter; and two brothers, Ronnie and Jack Ritter.Funeral InformationFuneral services for Lynda will be held Thursday, October 31, at 10:30 A.M. in the First United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Don Seeger officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.
