Jessie Render

Jessie Mary Render, 83, long time resident of Atlantic, died Sunday, December 9, 2007, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa. Jessie was born the daughter of George and Louise (Fulton) Scherdin on August 18, 1924 in Lewis, Iowa. She grew up and was schooled there and graduated with the Lewis High School Class of 1941. She then joined the U.S. Department of the Navy Waves. Jessie was married to Hugh Render on April 8, 1949, in Atlantic, at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Following her honorable military discharge, the couple lived in Atlantic where they raised their family of four sons whom they enjoyed very much. She was a member of S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic. She was active in the nursing profession, having earned the LPN designation. Jessie worked several years at the Atlantic Memorial Hospital and the Heritage House. She later managed Royal Oaks Apartments. She is survived by her sons Michael Render and his wife Laura of Louisville, Nebraska, Larry Render of Cedar Rapids, and Douglas Render of Glenwood, Iowa; grandchildren Rachel Render, Melanie Render and Alison Render; great grandchildren Cameron Winger and Josalie Tyson; and one brother, Marion Scherdin of Florida.
