Aaron Rebarcak, 35, of Atlantic, Iowa, died Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at his home.
If you knew Aaron there were two things you knew he loved; his kids and music. Times spent hiking at local trails or even to the top of Bailey Mountain in Colorado were some of the best times together with his kids and girlfriend, Sarah. Music helped Aaron express his feelings and came natural to him; he lived for music. He received a blue electric guitar from his step dad, Lee as a teenager and from that moment on he was all in. There was never a time he was told he was being too loud playing; Kathy and Lee would encourage him to continue to play even if it meant them listening to him as they went to sleep after a night of work. Whether it was jamming by himself or with his friend, Jimmy; Aaron truly felt the music. He listened to many genres of music but preferred ones that were guitar based; his favorite bands were Nirvana and Led Zepplin. Aaron was full of life and radiated pure joy and happiness when he was with his kids and strumming on his guitar. He was mainly self-taught; listening to hits like “Long Train Running” by the Doobie Brothers and playing it by ear.
Aaron researched long hours and had taken up the craft of growing oyster mushrooms to sell to local food suppliers and restaurants. He loved surrounding himself with friends and family; usually sharing his wonderful sense of humor. Aaron was always willing to lend a helping hand where needed and took great pride in touching other lives, some he probably didn’t even realize he was helping because his gestures of kindness were so genuine.
Aaron Daniel, the son of Dann Lloyd Rebarcak and Kathy Sue (Bladt) Weston was born on October 17, 1984, in Atlantic, Iowa. Aaron’s sister, Emily will always treasure the wonderful conversation they shared and his sister, Paige always smiles remembering as a little kid Aaron always talking for her; knowing exactly what she wanted to say. As a kid Aaron and his cousin, Brian could often be found up to a little mischief. Lots of laughs surrounded stories of them being together including accounts of them making hundreds of spit balls while waiting in the car, trying out what happens when you stick a suction cup to your forehead, and flying model rockets and getting them caught in various places throughout the neighborhood. One “emergency” landing resulted in a little more than they bargained for when it ended up landing on Kathy’s roof and setting it on fire. They also enjoyed riding bikes all over town. He attended Atlantic High School and later Iowa Western Community College. Aaron worked at Orscheln’s Farm and Home and most recently Atlantic Glass Company.
Aaron will be deeply missed by his children, Lola and Kai Rebarcak of Atlantic; mother, Kathy (Lee) Weston of Griswold; father, Dann Rebarcak of Atlantic; sisters, Emily Rebarcak of Atlantic and Paige Rebarcak and her son, Fisher Miles of Montana; step-brother, Jesse (Katie) Weston and their children, Jack and Henry all of Rockford, IL; step-sister, Brandi (Cody) Newman of Atlantic; grandmother, Joanne Rebarcak of Atlantic; aunts and uncles, Carrie (Chuck) Biddison of Arizona, Amy (Dan) Polaschek of Spencer, Jeff (Constance) Rebarcak of Chicago, Debra (Ralph) Adams of Thornton, CO and Brenda Walter of Walnut; girlfriend, Sarah Myers and her daughter, Willow of Atlantic; mother of Lola and Kai, Lisa Costello; any many extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Don and Shirley Bladt and Ken Rebarcak; and uncles, Jeff Bladt and Bruce Walter.
