Obituary for Sharon L. Ray

Sharon Ray, 60, of Lincoln, Nebraska and formerly of Atlantic, passed on, in her home in Lincoln, to be with Jesus on Friday, September 15, 2006. Sharon was born in Atlantic, the daughter of Loren and Mildred (Minor) King, on October 30, 1945. She grew up in Atlantic and graduated from the Atlantic High School in 1963. She attended Americana Beauty Academy in Des Moines and was employed as a beautician at the Powder Puff and the Cut and Curl Salons in Atlantic. Sharon was married to B. Terry Ray in the Christian Church in Atlantic in February 2 of 1964. Following four years in Marysville, Missouri, the couple settled in Atlantic, where they were blessed with a family of five children ~ later, six grandchildren; the loves of their life. In more recent years, she worked as an optical technician in Moberly, MO and in Lincoln, NE. The couple took a memorable vacation to Amelia Island in 1990. Sharon"s hobbies and interests have included gardening, sewing, baking, shopping and playing with grandkids. She was a perfectionist with handwork, crafts, remodeling and decorating the homes they have lived in. She enjoyed her antiques and collected dolls and antique framed baby pictures which created a cheerful atmosphere in every room . She has endeared herself, to all who knew her, through her valiant battle with cancer during the past four years. She was determined to live, and gracefully made the best of every day.
