Clyde R. Prall
Clyde R. Prall, 95, of Belleair Bluffs, Florida and formerly of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2001 at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida.The son of Thaddeus Edmond and Elsie Luetta (Worth) Prall, Clyde was born September 26, 1906 in Atlantic where he grew up and graduated from Atlantic High School in 1925. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Clyde was united in marriage to Betty M. George on January 19, 1946 in Dixon, Illinois. He was a salesman in garment sales for Dan River for twenty-five years, retiring January 1, 1977 when they moved to Largo, Florida. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Atlantic and the Peace Memorial Presbyterian Church in Clearwater, Florida, a lifetime member of the Elks Club, a member of the American Legion and he enjoyed fishing and playing golf at the Pinecrest course.Surviving are his wife of fifty-six years, Betty Prall, of Belleair Bluffs, Florida; four sisters, Ada Hensley, Bernice Hupp, Valera Mayberry, all of Atlantic and Betty Winterstein of Creston, Iowa; and a number of nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Susan Prall Hutcheson; four brothers, Earl Raymond, Leo, William and Art Prall; four sisters, Luetta Mabel Prall, Florence Kennersley, Lorene (Curley) Tracy Beebe and Elsie Lucille Grant.Funeral InformationServices for Clyde will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2002, at 11:00 A.M. at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa with Rev. Don Seeger of the First United Presbyterian Church in Atlantic officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.
